International Plus Size Clothing Chart
The following universal chart is useful to compare sizes across countries and regions for today's plus size women fittings. The chart lists all measurements both in inches and centimetres.
Most of our plus size apparel has a size chart included with that item. That is your primary size chart & guide. Check all the images we provide for the product where we often include it's own size chart. If a table of clothing sizes does not exist for the particular apparel product, we generally recommend choosing 3 sizes up from the size options shown as many of our items are manufactured overseas where sizing is generally smaller.
Many items such as modal leggings, stretch pants, loose shirts, casual plus size clothing and other items have a single size to fit all women. This will be apparent if no size options are available for the item. You may always email us if you're not sure or it seems the particular item should have different sizes, especially if it shows as such.
Since most people like to reference size with the colloquial expression of small, medium, large, extra large etc.., this lends to ambiguity. You'll note each corresponding colloquial expression can be matched with actual measurement sizes. Each of the measurement options provide a 2" range which translates to approximately 5 cm. The measurements you'll need for yourself for almost any apparel piece is bust, waist and hips. If we're designing a custom dress for you then your height is also helpful to estimate length of dress.
Bust: is generally the measurement of your upper body around the largest circumference. This almost definitely defines around your chest (breasts) for women.
Waist: Measuring your waist is done around where the seams of a pair of pants will rest on your body. So it is usually below the belly button but above the hips.
Hips: Like the bust, the hips are measured around the largest circumference that entail your bottom half of your torso. This usually resides approx 10 cm below your waistline.
Each country will measure size using different systems. Our size chart is particularly useful in that you'll find United Kingdom, Australia, European and USA country sizes easily traced and matched to match exact sizing. You'll notice UK and Australian sizes are two numbers above the USA sizing references from small to 8XL. European sizes are completely different starting at 32-34 and going up to 52-54. Our size chart makes it easy to find the corresponding size you need in any format you wish to read it.
